I bought the Shadow of the Colossus the other day. Nothing really special. I just wanted to share this little tidbit to you.

New Shoes! Boss Orange!
Check it! New shoes from the Boss Orange Spring and Summer 2011 collection! This particular pair is called “Madisonn”. It’s black leather with some snake-print (?) leather trim on the cut-outs. Very sexy and cute.
I usually wear it with skinny jeans, but today I am sporting a short skirt. This isn’t a fashion blog, but I do like to showcase some style while I live in Japan.
Oh yeah — Marc and I went to a BBQ. He took some pictures. Check it!

New Shoes! VW x Melissa!
Love love love! I bought these for about $100 CDN at Gotemba Premium Outlets.
This particular pair is called the Ultragirl. Sleek shiny black eco-friendly thermoplastic shoes and part of Vivienne Westwood’s Anglomania collection. Although Melissa shoes has also done collaborations with other designers, I particularly like the Vivenne Westwood collection with its pop colours and bold simple centerpieces.
Once it’s cheap and available, I want to get the bright fushia “Dragon Lady” heels. Patience, my pet. Patience.

If I was in the Devil Wears Prada, I am Anne Hathaway …
… in the first 30 minutes of the movie, wearing heinous clothes and about 15lbs heavier than the latter half.
Half of me wants to deny the existence of my shabby, somewhat, nerdy self; my shabby self just wants to sit back, relax with a cake, girly movies, and action video games and mock the metaphysical breakdown of that “shiny” half as it becomes consumed with its own dark self-perpetuated shortcomings. Love run-ons? I do. Shut up.
I present to you in all my nerdy glory, the hoodie. I love you Japan Consumerism.
And a quick video showcasing okonomiyaki while I was in Osaka. A bit of a continuation from my last post and more reasons to why I am gaining weight here.

Veteran Cosplayer, New Costume Buyer
Like all the other ventures of self-expression and stupidity I indulge in, I also happen to like cosplaying. Let’s face it, Halloween is coming and I AM in the land of anime/manga fandom. Things will be a little different this year though.
The last time I was in cosplay was a couple years ago; I was Yoruichi from the anime/manga Bleach. My friend Will and I went as a pair and he went as Urahara. The costume itself was handmade and I thought I did a pretty good job, even though I was too cheap wasn’t able to get hair extensions nor purple cat-eye contact lenses.
Look mom, no shame!
This year, I was unfortunately fortunately introduced to the hilarity that is Gintama. I gained notoriety in my elementary schools for occasionally donning on an eye mask made infamous by one of the show’s laziest characters. It seemed only natural that I should actually BE this character for Halloween, so I did not hesitate, clicked on Amazon, and charged the costume to my credit card. Never bought a costume before, but whatever. I want it. That’s how I roll around here.
Here’s a preview of my character. Oh yeah, did I mention this character is male? Yeah, never done that before either. Should be interesting.
The blond character who goes, “Eh?” is the character I will dress up as. Oh, Okita Sougo — hopefully I do not put your fanbase into a murderous rage after I am done portraying you.
Oh, here’s a small clip to show you exactly why I love this show. They always break the fourth wall.

Because a Jacket Can Make Anything Look Good
I am always get asked, “What are you wearing?” My usual reply is, “Nothing. Just lying naked.” And then he would say …
Ha ha. Just kidding.
No seriously. It’s a common question, but without the suggestive connotations I implied.
Breakdown: Top: black cotton tube top from Thailand; Pants: Uniqlo (circa. 2007) skinny jeans; Jacket: Boss Orange SS09 (I think); Bag: WWII replica of a German Medic Bag (circa. 2000); Shoes: John Fluevog FW10 “Melissa” boots in pink/blue. You might remember these shoes from a previous post.
Usually, I would have more layers than this but it is monsoon/typhoon season here in Japan and the weather changes are drastic.

Floral Camo
First, pardon the messy, sweaty hair. Second, pardon the bad lighting.
The girls and I — the usual suspects, plus Aneeka — decided to have a mini girls’ night filled with karaoke madness. We wanted to feel a bit more special, so we had outfits that reflected our inner divas. However, my inner diva is a bit slow and I didn’t take a picture until I came home after the event; this explains the outfit and the lack of composure with my appearance.
Breakdown: Shoes: Hugo Boss SS10 booties; Pants: Japanese brand AntGauge FW10 floral-camo print stretch slim cargos; Shirt: Canadian brand ComplexGeometries Binder tee in black.
Accessories: Earrings and wooden bangles from Thailand; ring, watch, leather wrap belt and leather ID bracelet from Japan.

Ana Without Marc
With Marc gone, things have been quieter around here in my town of Izunokuni. A lot of people have been asking me, “Are you lonely?” now that he has left. The honest answer would be: Yes and no.
I am busy. Very busy. I work, I study, I hang out with friends, and I keep myself generally fit. Now a days, my down time includes making videos, researching on videography and cinematography, playing video games and occasionally reading a book. I guess I am kind of lucky to be constantly on the go, however I do miss him on those quiet times.
When I was watching Kung Fu Panda earlier this evening, I couldn’t help but notice the silence. It’s only in these times that the silence is deafening and only the blaring television could make the apartment seem less empty.
As an aside, today’s video was a bit of a vblog about this topic, but it is also an experiment with my new tripod. I bought a tripod for 2000Y today and it’s fabulous. Now I can make videos and adjust my camera at heights without using my bookshelves and books.
A Small Note on Video-Making
Having video-making as a hobby can be difficult at times. As you may notice, my video postings are random at best and are not in any chronological order. I am alway torn between capturing the moment versus living the moment; when I compile them, it really depends on my mood on what clips I want to edit and it takes time to piece it together into something I deem passable.
Eventually, they will all be made. It’s all mood dependant, but be rest assured that I aim to please. Love you all!
